If..Else Log

Running fast

Katie Lucas (Via JoS):

Step 1: write about running really fast.
Step 2: Go and draw a plan of the racetrack.
Step 3: go and buy really tight lycra shorts.
Step 4: run really, really, really fast.
Step 5: cross line first.

It's that step 4 that's the tough one. But if you put lots of emphasis
on 1,2,3 and 5 it's possible no-one will notice and then you could
probably make a lot of money selling the methodology to would be
athletes who think there's some "secret" to being a 100m runner over
and above being born with the ability to run fast.

Upgrading Wordpress to 1.5

As well as redesigning this site, I've also upgraded Wordpress to version 1.5. I've written a few words on this upgrade at Fully Independent.

Gespaa: If…Else V3

As you will probably have noticed, if..else has undergone a redesign. Codenamed Gespaa, this is now the official If..Else theme. Background image comes courtesy of my brother Mike.

Click refresh and let me know how it looks.

LB via Google Maps

Google Maps is another excellent resource to come out of Google. However, the big surprise (besides the clever DHTML stuff), is that it is linked to Google Search.

For example, try doing a search for litigious bastards in Salt Lake City and see who pops up:-)

International Domain Name (IDN) browser exploit

Schmoo group have released an practical example of a homograph attack. This particularly nasty attack currently works on all non-IE browsers.

Update: As a temporary workaround, I'm disabling IDN in Firefox. To do the same, navigate to about:config and set network.enableIDN to false.
This temporary workaround does not work as a browser restart resets the flag. It is, however, fixed in the latest firefox build.

Crooked cops

Nice

A Swedish police officer robbed a bank - then returned a short while later to lead the hunt for the culprit.
