Can someone remind me when it was that American became the official english? It seems that every other program is assuming that the only form of english in existance is that of the big US of A. They even taunt us by very kindly allowing us to choose American English.

Somehow it just managed to sneak it's way in. I'm even finding myself writing stuff like "color" and "internationalize" now…

Kazumi Totaka, a young music composer at Nintendo, has worked on every game the "Mario Paint song" appears in. Totaka-san is also known by the nickname "Totakeke" - the name of the music-loving dog in Animal Crossing, but also a secret trigger for an occurrence of his song in the Japanese version of Link's Awakening.

The page includes some backstory and MP3's for the strange tune which has appeared across Nintendo games.

Ruby on Rails has to be the one of the real breakthroughs in Web Development and indeed, development itself. Though I've only spent a trivial amount of time playing with it, the huge productivity hike and the overall elegance of the framework is enough to convince me that this is something to pay and devote attention to.

This is no hyperbole. Far more so than Ajax, this is this era's true revolution in web development. The majesty of the framework is sufficient for me to make a long term commitment to Ruby; In fact, calling RoR a Ruby framework understates things; it's probably the killer app for Ruby itself.

The only downside to it is having to move back to a world without RoR…

Shawn Grimes has released his excellent clean archives plugin. Of course, that means that the work I'd put in writing my own archives page is now an utter waste of time:-)
