I’m back

If you're seeing this page, this will mean that the transfer of my domain from 1and1 to Dreamhost has succeeded.

Data has been ported, WP reinstalled and DNS info propagated. Leave a comment if you can see this post or something looks borked. I'll write a little more later.

Welcome to the fold. Quick question is the ad sense stuff at the top meant to flash when typing a comment?

Not really… what browser does this happen on? I don’t see it on Firefox/XP.

The whole adsense/comments area needs a drastic overhaul anyways. I’m considering dropping adsense altogether as soon as I receive my first cheque from Google (which shows in itself the poor click thru rate).

The comments area is a bit messy as well but lack of free time has meant that things are being a bit neglected round here…

Wow, those are two big changes at once. I have 1and1 right now and the only reason I haven’t switched to another company is because I jumped on when they were giving away 3 years of hosting for free. I’ve heard that Dreamhost caps the amount of domains you can host unless you pay more? Is that true? Also, how did the WP switch go, not too scary right?

Technically yes. However, I’m on their Code Monster deal which let’s you fully host 15 domains (You can, of course, park as many domains aas you like). The price I’m paying there is slightly cheaper than what I was getting with 1and1 but I’m getting a whole lot more.

WP switch went really well. Just had to backup all the MySQL db’s and theme/plugin files and transfer across. Must be lucky:-)
