Footnotes using CSS and JS

A fantastic way to format footnotes using a bit of Javascript and CSS. What’s nice about Timothy Groves technique is that

  • No need to worry about numbering
  • Footnotes are edited inline i.e. at their insertion points
  • Back links are also accommodated

Just thought I’d put in a plug for my WordPress footnotes plugin I wrote and published last month.

It does all that, but won’t fall over without javascript. It also adds a convenient button to the quick tags in the WP editing screen.
