Konami code uncovers secret Mint easter egg
Anyone with more than a passing interest in computer games will have encountered the infamous "Konami code". UP, UP, DOWN, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, B, A. Infinite lives, secret menu options, 99 hearts, special characters are just some of the secrets which are unlocked by the Freemason handshake of computer games.

It turns out that if you key in this sequence in the Shaun Inman's Mint screen, a secret easter egg will be uncovered as Jason Santa Maria's stamp of approval shows up momentarily. Almost brings a tear to my eyes. [via]

Most awesome thing I’ve seen all day.

I’ve never heard of the Konami code before, but this almost makes me want to buy Mint.
In Halo 2 on Xbox Live, some people will say when the game starts, “activate konami code- start-a-up-a” and that makes you exit the game. Althought it isn’t exactly the code, its still hilarious to see kids leave the game because they think the code actually works, heh.
Ah, the good ol’ Contra code. Brings me back to my younger days.
And makes me feel old when people say they have no idea what it is.
