OK, I’m ready to cash in
Using Tristan Louis' blog valuation metric, Marco Rosella has calculated the numbers for the whole 9rules network.
Plugging the values results in the astonishing value of $1,440,961.28 for this site… well, that's it. My blog is officially up for sale! I'll even take off 28c for the first person to make an offer:) In other news, Me and Khaled are using our high valuation to launch a hostile takeover of the 9rules network.
BBOP: the ubiquitous UI model

Jan Miksovsky coins the acronym BBOP as a label for the ubiquitous UI model that you see used for navigating DVD players, in-car navigation systems, iPods etc… In the computer profession, we have a natural propensity for creating acronyms but used appropriately, they're helpful in faciliatating conversations and discussions. AJAX comes to mind…
Buttons (as the predominant control type)
Back stack (as a organizing principle for navigation)
One Task (one task at a time, often explicitly stated)
Page-based (a single page consumes the entire visible screen area)
GBA DS Cover Project
As any Gameboy owner is all too aware, the boxes for the cartridges are notoriously easy to damage (not surprising given that they're made out of cardboard). So it goes without saying that the GBA DS Cover Project, a community effort to scan and convert the entire Gameboy library to DS formatted inserts, is a much welcomed service to videogame fans everywhere [via Edge magazine].
The GBA DS Cover Project is a collaborative effort between some of the CAG forumers and Snackbar Games. The project was started by Organicow as a fun way to store his GBA games. Shortly after acquiring his DS he noticed the DS game cases have a spot to hold GBA games. He measured out a DS game cover insert and created the first GBA cover to match.

Remember the milk
Remember the milk is a todo list which picks up from where Tadalist left off. Categorised entries, due dates, priorities, recurring tasks all wrapped up with a dose of AJAX.
Dark Eye
And so enters another design gallery… Dark Eye does look interesting but will it offer a different enough experience to distinguish itself from the rest of the pack?
How to become popular on MySpace
Samy is my hero? A great story about the how a MySpace exploit was created and used to make Samy the most popular guy on MySpace.
10/04, 12:34 pm: You have 73 friends.
I decided to release my little popularity program. I'm going to be famous…among my friends.1 hour later, 9:30 am: You have 74 friends and 480 friend requests.
Oh wait, it's exponential, isn't it. Shit.5 hours later, 6:20 pm: I timidly go to my profile to view the friend requests. 2,503 friends. 917,084 friend requests. A few minutes later, I refresh. 1,005,831.
It's official. I'm popular. I have hit 1,000,000+ users. In less than 20 hours, I've hit over 1/35th of all myspace users.
The iPod (with video)
Well, I wasn't going to post this but ok. It'll become well known news pretty soon but in case you missed out; the video iPod has been released by Apple.
Slimmer than a regular iPod, good battery life, good capacity, 30fps, 320×240 res screen and comes in 30gb/60gb varieties. Engadget has more info as well as the transcript of Steve Jobs script. John Gruber, reliable as ever, has some more detailed observations.
