Launch of phuly.co.uk
Well, I've finally decided to put phuly.co.uk to productive use and launch it as my official photoblog. My photos have flickered between various places but this should hopefully be their long term home.
The site's not quite finished yet (still a few things to sort out and put into place, not least enabling comments) but what do you guys think of the design? Thoughts and opinions?

When I spotted the domain name I couldn’t help but think of a popular slang phrase here in Australia - “Fully sik sub bro!”.
I really dig the colours - they help set of the images really well. Phuly sik bro. :)

The text could be larger and lighter, I think: at present it’s slightly illegible, especially the copyright notice and the ‘next’ and ‘prev’ navigation (which is pretty important, and needs to be adequately highlighted).
Other than that, nice job–I especially like the logotype. It’s a more polished version of the style used here, and I think If..Else could benefit from some stylistic tweaks to bring it closer to the new site.
You’re probably right; I was trying to place emphasise the photo/content but in retrospect, probably went a little too far. I’ve made a few tweaks which will hopefully make it a bit more legible.
However, I’m going to keep the font-sizes as they are (once again, so that the focus is on the photo) but I plan to add per-user text-resize preferences as well as other little changes.

As I posted on wp support, it’s beautiful. I like the fact that the photos are the stars! Makes me determined to do a bit better by some of my photos…. I’m pretty sure I must have a domain name laying around that would work (out of the 45 unused ones that is….)

Yep and yep. It’s powered by WP 2.0 and the “about the picture” and “location” bits are custom fields.
