Wikipedia in 5 years time
Jon Udell has a good entry in which he provides some recommendations for Wikipedia to take on board over the next five years.
- RSS feeds: syndicated feeds of watchlists, page edits, and statistics. Will be extremely useful for minimising vandalism, malicious edits.
- Change visualization: perhaps incorporating some of the scripts/tools resulting from Andy Baio's post
- Stable versions: An interesting idea though one that might act as firebrand. How, when and who will have the decision of tagging a stable version of a given wikipedia page? Consensus, discussion, experts?
- Trackbacks: A debatable one. Is wikipedia a resource, reference or discussion? Does this belong within wikipedia or is it a meta-service?
