Gender via text analysis

Apparently, I write like a girl…

Inspired by an article in The New York Times Magazine, the Gender Genie uses a simplified version of an algorithm developed by Moshe Koppel, Bar-Ilan University in Israel, and Shlomo Argamon, Illinois Institute of Technology, to predict the gender of an author. Read more at nature.com.

    Weird, I just threw my latest blog entry at it. After posting it I was worried that my mates might start calling me a girl, but the algorithm got it right!

    A little late on this one, but I had to try it out. Apparently, I’ve been laboring all my life under the illusion that I’m female.

    Egad, what will my parents think when they find out I’m really not (according to this).
